THANK YOU!!!

The Libby Memorial Library would like to thank all of the supporters, volunteers and attendees for their involvement in the Community Cares fundraiser that was held at Jumpin' Jakes on Sunday 4/7 with proceeds benefitting both the Library and Community Animal Watch. Bosco the Reading Dog

Libby Library is happy to announce a new reading program. We will be having Bosco and his owner Tony come the first Wednesday each month for children to sign up for time to read with Bosco. Bosco is a 4 year old Chocolate Lab who loves people, children especially. He has successfully completed AKC’s Canine Good Citizen program and with his handler, Tony, is a registered therapy dog team with Therapy Dogs International. For the last 3 years, Bosco and Tony have been tutoring 2nd and 3rd graders with reading difficulties. Using Bosco to attract, excite, and engage the student, the child begins to associate reading with a fun activity. The child feels more comfortable reading to Bosco since he makes no judgment on their reading skill. Children often begin reading to their pets. As their reading skill improves, so does their self-esteem. This program will be starting May 1st. For more information on this program contact Kim.
